Training and Debriefing for Student Internships – “The Importance of Internships Before Entering the World of Work”

Internship is one of the important components that must be followed and lived by final year students at the tertiary level. This was also carried out at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Palangka Raya, Faculty of Economics and Business. As an effort to provide provision for readiness to enter the world of work and the business world, a short one-day training was conducted involving the banking community and also the business world. It is hoped that with this provision students will not only have an interest in working and trying but also be able to continue their education to the next level.

We have indeed programmed this in order to support the second MBKM, namely students carrying out internships and also students getting work practice in the field. Then the second activity is in the context of supporting the first IKU, namely students will get a decent job and also later students will continue their studies and also students can become entrepreneurs, that is our hope in the future. Then in this activity students can later take part in internships in various Indonesia.

In this era of digitalization, what apprentice students must update is that they must also update digital itself. So they also have to know about technological advances, be it in the field of communication or they have to know how to use the features of the latest technology.

Providing the first and second motivation also opens the horizons of fellow students, especially economics and business students. We hope that later graduates from FEB will not only have practical minds on becoming employees or ASNs, but also think about becoming entrepreneurs. What’s more, Indonesia has entered a demographic bonus, so this is both a challenge and an opportunity. These generations are the strength that should be for Indonesia to become a strong economy for this nation.

With the various conveniences offered by today’s technology, apprenticeship activities also require mastery of skills in the digital field. Not only demanding technological excellence, mastery of soft skills must also be owned by apprentice students in an effort to form superior character and personality, especially in the spirit of Freedom to learn today.
